Scientist, Gene Editing, Off-Target
The Role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, competent, and self-motivated Scientist with a strong background in molecular biology and genome editing to join our Gene Editing team to help expand our off-target platform.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
- Design, execute, and troubleshoot molecular biology and cell biology experiments to profile the off-target characteristics of lead Life Edit genome editing systems
- Develop off-target assays across multiple cell types and editing modalities
- Analyze experimental data and present scientific results at team research meetings and in formal reports
- Contribute to publications and patent applications
- Follow advancements in the field of gene editing published in the literature and presented at conferences
- Collaborate closely with the Computational Biology, Technology Development, and Preclinical research groups
- Assist in day-to-day laboratory operations
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a related field
- Extensive expertise with common molecular biology techniques including PCR, library generation, and DNA modification
- Expertise in biochemical isolation and analysis techniques for DNA, RNA, and protein
- Demonstrated hands on experience in mammalian tissue culture including primary cell culture with experience in multiple delivery methods including nucleofection, lipofection, and lipid nano particles is strongly preferred
- Relevant technical skills for data analysis, DNA and protein sequence analysis, ELN documentation, and presenting results
- Demonstrated ability for cross-functional collaboration in a team-oriented environment
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Experience with genome editing technology including off-target analysis techniques is strongly preferred
- Experience with and conceptual understanding of NGS techniques
- Industry experience preferred
