Facilities Planner/Scheduler Co-Op

The Role:
ElevateBio is seeking a Facilities Planner/Scheduler (Co-Op) to join the team. The successful candidate will be detailed oriented, organized, and have a strong desire to learn. Key responsibilities will be to screen work orders in the CMMS and review for completeness, accuracy, and necessity, as well as planning maintenance and calibration events to support laboratory, Quality Control, GMP, and non-GMP facilities, equipment, instruments, and utilities.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
- Will work between the Maintenance department and their customers and ensures that the operation areas or functions to which they are assigned receive prompt, efficient and quality service from the maintenance function.
- Reviews and screens all work orders to see that they are properly filled out:
- Work Scope clearly described,
- Check if the priority and requested completion date are achievable.
- Ensures that work requested is required.
- Ensures all work orders are properly vetted utilizing additional resources such as Facilities Engineering, Process Engineering or Automation Engineering as needed.
- Estimates jobs showing sequence of steps, number of technicians and required labor hours, specialty tools needed.
- Creates Work Plan Templates in CMMS as needed to clearly define and capture scope.
- Assists in determining the required quantity and availability of parts needed to meet the demand from the internal and external customers.
- Coordinates with the Facilities Department for any issues on parts that need to be resolve.
- Review inventory levels and order performance to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing improvement.
- Works with the managers in Facilities, Metrology, and Planning and Scheduling to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed.
- Make sure that all return part requests are properly processed.
- Establishes equipment or suite return to service requirements based on the scope of work, consult with QA Operations as needed.
- Works with the Facilities Scheduler to establish a work schedule for each maintenance area supervisor/manager.
- Assists Maintenance backlog in the CMMS.
- Planning of resources, reporting, and ensuring work practices are consistent with GMP, Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements.
- Facilitates continuous improvement activities with a core focus on improving Planning and effectiveness.
- Performs other tasks and special assignments as requested or required.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of a wide variety of typical maintenance/calibration tasks, including PM, spare parts, work order lifecycle and troubleshooting systemic problems. General principles of engineering, operations and the tools and equipment required to perform many of the daily maintenance tasks.
- Strong leadership skills, written and verbal communications skills, be self-motivated and possess interpersonal skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and work effectively with little supervision when needed.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and experience applying these skills to resolve technical problems.
- Ability to coordinate, facilitate and organize resources in an efficient manner.
- Ability to work effectively under extreme pressure to meet deadlines.
- Well organized and detail oriented with ability to handle multiple activities simultaneously.
- Desire to work in a fast paced, state of the art, alternately research and customized manufacturing facility.
- Working knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
